My Story

Background and Philosophy

My name is Ronja Hayes. Born and raised in Germany, I moved to Southwest Saskatchewan in 2019...
I offer horse training, from starting colts over starting a broke horse after a break to putting on miles and working cattle. I have many years of experience working with horses, mostly riding english but picked up western riding a few years ago.
After working with several different trainers for years, learning various methods and principals of starting and training horses I am now working on my own. My goal is to work with the horse, form results that last, and a willing partner for every kind of job.

“Nick” is a 14-year-old AQHA registered gelding standing at 15 hands. He has been with me on consignment for just a few weeks now and quickly became one of my go-to horses for any kind of job. This guy is broke! Nick has seen all sorts of ranch work, from checking cows and feedlot cattle, to cutting and sorting, roping, working bulls, checking fence, as well as starting colts. He has been there done that and is super handy to get work done but you can also drop the reins and take him for a trail ride. Nick has a great handle, neck reins, and has plenty of fancy buttons. No buck, bolt or spook. Easy to catch with a gentle personality. Stands good for the farrier. Before his current owner purchased him in the spring of 2022, Nick has had plenty of professional training. He has been used for ranch and feedlot work as well as done some cutting in the past. Nicks bloodlines go back to PEPPY SAN BADGER and SMART LITTLE LENA. Whether you are looking for a great, advanced partner for ranch work, a step-up horse for your kid or to get into showing Nick is your guy! However, Nick is athletic, cowy, likes to work and has more go than woah.
